Missouri Chamber
of Commerce and Industry
Building Missouri’s Economic Future
For over a century, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been taking care of business for Missouri employers. Founded in 1923, the Missouri Chamber represents more than 75,000 employers statewide, working to ensure Missouri remains a place where businesses can grow and create jobs. Through advocacy, research and collaboration, the Missouri Chamber is shaping a strong, competitive future for the Show Me State.
Advocating for Business-Friendly Policy
During the 2026 session of the Missouri General Assembly, the Missouri Chamber’s legislative priorities include HB 2214, which modifies tax incentives and creates a capital investment fund for industrial manufacturing projects, as well as SB 1433 and HB 2654, which strengthen the Missouri Works program. “These pieces of legislation will allow our state’s advanced manufacturing industry to leverage its strengths and continue to grow,” said President and CEO Kara Corches.
Shaping a Competitive State
The Missouri Chamber Foundation is leading forward-looking research to guide long-term economic strategy. Its report, Making Missouri a Manufacturing Powerhouse, outlines recommendations to strengthen the state’s manufacturing leadership. Seven key priorities include workforce development, capital investment, infrastructure, business recruitment and expansion, increased exports, a stronger legal climate and public safety.
Leadership for a New Era
Named president and CEO in November 2024, Corches is the first woman to lead the Missouri Chamber in its 100-plus-year history. “I am charged with leading an organization that was created to protect and promote Missouri’s outstanding employer community, which is the backbone of our state,” she said. As the Missouri Chamber’s “chief bragger,” she is committed to sharing the powerful stories of Missouri employers and ensuring their voices help shape the state’s economic future.
